Scottsdale may not have a white Christmas but we do have plenty of holiday cheer! The picture above is a prime example. Every year, a group of Arizonans hike up the locally famous Camelback Mountain to put a Christmas tree at the top.  Many people travel to the Scottsdale to spend their holiday season attending beautiful outdoor events that make Christmas in the desert a very unique one! Christmas at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

Skate on real ice surrounded by saguaros decorated with Christmas lights! This holiday event lasts all season and is perfect for the whole family or a unique night with a special someone. The resort completely transforms for the holidays! It features many rides and attractions that the kids will love. They also offer rink side fire pit rentals for a more relaxed experience. 

Cost: $35 parking fee, which includes admission to the event, rides and attractions
$20 ice skating fee + $5 skate rental

Holiday Lights at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park

Although this event lasts all season long, the opening festival on December 9th is one you won't want to miss! This event has a tree lighting ceremony, visit from Santa, live music and rides for kids!

Cost: Free Admission
$2 carousel rides and $4 train rides

Winter Wonderland Arizona

This free exhibit features 250,000 Christmas lights synchronized to music, an Island of Misfit Toys display and a snowfall display! This one is sure to get you in the holiday spirit!

Carefree Christmas Festival

At this free event, you can see 40 tons of real snow right here in town! On Saturday, December 10th, you'll have the opportunity to see the electric light parade and holiday fireworks!

Zoo lights

Enjoy the Phoenix Zoo in a different light! Along with thousands of Christmas lights, this event features multiple light shows, rides for kids and the opportunity to pet sting ray!

Ice skating in the heart of downtown Phoenix! This event is great for people of all ages. With its close proximity to many great restaurants and night life, this one makes for a great night out!

The Nutcracker

This timeless holiday tradition has shows almost daily through Christmas Eve. Ballet Arizona's show has been ranked as one of the best across America by New York Times.

Tempe Fantasy of Lights Boat Parade

On December 10th, watch Tempe Town Lake light up from 50 festively decorated boats! The event with have live music, food trucks, photos with Santa and a firework show!
