For the Phoenix Arizona residents who like to take part in the Salt River Tubing, the wait is over! Tubing season opens this weekend, on Saturday May 16th. Take a few hours to relax this weekend, enjoy a few brews in the sun, and float yourself down the river to take part in a long standing tradition here in Greater Phoenix.
Just a few tips for the inexperienced Salt River Tuber...
Bring sunscreen!
Flip flops can be lost easily...
If you burn easy you may want to bring a shirt or a hat.
Ample water is a good idea to bring - and keep in mind they do not allow for any glass containers!
The tubes get hot, so many visitors bring a sheet to place on top of their tube while floating.
Snacks or lunch... You will be floating for several hours.
If you want to bring the kids along they must be over 8 years old and over 4 feet tall. Other than that, grab your swim suit and a few buddies and head for the river!

When: Opening weekend - Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17. Hours - 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. daily. Last tube rental is at 2 p.m. and the last shuttle pickup is at 6:30 p.m.
